Supporting the Canford Cliffs centenary celebration
On Sunday 31st August two representatives from our Canford Cliffs office hosted games at the Canford Cliffs Land Society centenary celebration at Pirate Park.
Daisy Kershaw and Jenny Sanderson supported the pirate-themed event, hosting games such as pin the tail on the donkey beside the face painting we had sponsored for the family-friendly celebration. The festival was hosted in order to celebrate the Canford Cliffs Land Society running for 100 years.
The Society supports the Canford Cliffs area in many ways, including provision of Christmas lights in the village, support for the village hall, organisation of flower displays, provision of the play park on Cliff Drive and refurbishment of the zig-zag path down to the promenade. The Society also regularly supports local charities. Jenny Sanderson commented:
“It was lovely to see the local businesses providing freebies for the children (and adults!), a rarity these days. The event was really successful, the face painting in particular was busy all day, we were happy to keep the kids entertained with our games whilst they were waiting. A lovely and sunny Sunday indeed!”
The event was a great success, with many compliments from members of the public that it hit a positive note. The generous and enthusiastic support of many local organisations helped to make the day lively, encouraging many local families to come along and take part in the free activities and giveaways on offer. Partner, Tim Sharpley also attended the event to support the Canford Cliffs community. Daisy Kershaw commented:
"It was a really accessible and successful community event. It was nice to see all local businesses come together in what continues to be a challenging economic environment."
