Welcome to Midland House: Ellis Jones opens new Bournemouth office

We have officially relocated our Bournemouth head office after more than 40 years, marking a significant milestone in the firm’s continued growth and development.

The move sees almost 100 team members relocate to a new Grade A office space at Midland House, situated near St Michael’s Roundabout on Bournemouth’s West Cliff.

We have taken occupancy of two floors within the modern commercial building, creating a contemporary workspace designed to support collaboration, client service and future growth.

A new chapter for Ellis Jones

The relocation represents an important step in our evolution from a traditional high street practice into a leading regional law firm, serving individuals and businesses across Dorset, Hampshire and London.

The new 6,760sq ft office has been designed with both clients and colleagues in mind, featuring an open-plan layout, soundproof meeting pods, breakout areas and modern facilities that encourage teamwork and flexibility.

Lauren Day, Managing Partner at Ellis Jones Solicitors, said:

"This is a landmark move for us, designed to support our growth strategy. It's the latest stage on our journey from being a high street practice to a regional player with multiple offices in Dorset, Hampshire and London.”

Midland House is a light, flexible, dynamic and modern space that will significantly improve our clients’ experience and support our culture as a firm that cares for our team’s health and wellbeing. It will enable our specialist teams to work more collaboratively as we continue to strengthen our brand. And it adds to our credentials as an employer keen to attract and retain the most talented legal professionals, both as trainees at the start of their careers and those who are further ahead in their working lives.

Investing in clients and colleagues

The relocation has been carefully planned to ensure that we can continue delivering the high level of service clients expect while providing colleagues with a modern environment that supports wellbeing, productivity and professional development.

Alongside the move, we have also established several new partnerships with local businesses to enhance employee benefits and strengthen our connections within the wider Bournemouth community.

Through a corporate partnership with The NICI hotel, colleagues will have opportunities to expand their professional networks, while additional partnerships with local independent businesses including Da Mario’s, Gio’s Deli and The Mysterious Bookcase.

Maintaining our Charminster roots

While Midland House will serve as our new headquarters, we remain committed to our long-standing presence within the Charminster community.

As part of the relocation, we have taken on premises at 372 Charminster Road, a former bank located close to our previous headquarters.

The office will become a dedicated base for members of our Wills, Trusts & Probate and Property teams, ensuring clients can continue to access legal services from a convenient Charminster location.

Looking ahead

The Bournemouth head office relocation complements our existing network of offices across the South, including locations in Canford Cliffs, Dorchester, Ringwood, Swanage, Broadstone, Wimborne and London.

As the firm continues to grow, the investment in Midland House reflects our commitment to creating an environment that supports exceptional client service, strengthens collaboration and provides a positive workplace for colleagues.

Lauren added:

"The office moves position us to embrace our next chapter and will help to support our growth as a purposely independent, challenger firm with big ambitions, engaged people and personality. With these moves in Dorset and our recent growth into our new London office opposite the RCJ, we demonstrate our commitment to investing in the firm’s future and all the people that make us who we are."

The move marks an exciting new era for Ellis Jones as we continue to build on our reputation as one of the South’s leading law firms.
