Celebrating diversity with Space Youth Project

Building a sense of community & belonging

Space Youth Project is a charity that has been up and running since 2001, welcoming all young gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and questioning (LGBT+) people across Dorset to join their supportive community. Space Youth Project supports young people who are or may be LGBT+ and empowers them to have positive self-esteem, to know they are supported, to have a sense of community and to overcome issues, caused or intensified by prejudice, in order to facilitate freedom of expression.

The charity provides training, workshops, information and resources on topics of interest for the community and shares and hosts events regularly to bring people together. This includes Space Family Days, arts and craft workshops, nature walks and raffles.

Supporting the Space Family Day event

Partner & Solicitor, Nicola Hall attended the latest Space Family Day event in Christchurch on Saturday 21st March to offer advice and information on legal transition, which was the theme of the event. We provided a leaflet to give people attending legal information on change of name, gender recognition certificates, fertility and LGBT+ parenting journeys. Nicola spoke to attendees and answered their questions surrounding the change of name process.

Following this event, our firm has donated a prize to the Space Youth Project Raffle Fundraiser on Friday 29th May and we look forward to our continued support for the Space Youth Project charity.
