FA Disciplinary Panel Appointment

I am pleased to announce that I have been appointed to the Football Association (FA) General Appeals Panel to sit as a Panel Member on a 3 year term. The panel is responsible for hearing disciplinary and regulatory appeals on behalf of the FA.

This appointment has come about due to my appointment to the FA Serious Case Panel back in July 2021. Although these hearings are carried remotely in Covid times, it is great to work with other panel members and Chairman to ensure that these disciplinary hearings are conducted fairly with the person charged given a full opportunity to give their evidence and ask questions. Cases have dealt with charges including serious assaults on match officials, foul and abusive language aimed at match officials and spectators, mass brawls on pitches involving players and parents. I attended Wembley Stadium in November 2021 to undertake training at the National Serious Case Panel Conference – see photo below of me in the Royal Box.

In 2019, I started my work in Football Disciplinary matters at Dorset FA and was appointed to sit as an Independent Disciplinary Panel Member. In September 2021, I was appointed to the Dorset FA Board of Directors as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
