Speeding is one of the most common driving offences in the UK, the repercussions of which vary depending upon the circumstances, but can be disastrous for families and businesses.
As a first time or repeat offender you may only have to attend a speed awareness course. Alternatively, you may receive an endorsement of 3 penalty points on your driving licence if you are given a Fixed Penalty Notice. In the worst case scenario where very high speeds are involved you may receive up to 6 points or be disqualified from driving for a period of time.
Receiving 6 penalty points is halfway to a “totting-up” disqualification for a minimum of 6 months and for Probationary Drivers, this alone means your licence will be revoked.
