Our activities during Armed Forces Week 2026

Raising money for a wonderful cause

Throughout the week, colleagues across the firm came together to take part in a variety of fundraising activities, all in support of our chosen charity, the Army Benevolent Fund. From baking and sporting challenges to quizzes and informative talks, the week was packed with opportunities to have fun, strengthen relationships, and raise money for an incredible charity.

We kicked off the week on Monday with a bake sale at our Charminster office. It was a sweet start to Armed Forces Week, giving some of our talented colleagues the chance to showcase their hidden baking skills while everyone enjoyed a well-earned treat. The bake sale proved to be a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part.

Getting active

On Tuesday, the Ellis Jones Olympics brought colleagues together for an afternoon of friendly competition. Events included rounders, an egg and spoon race, and the ever-popular welly wanging competition. The day was filled with laughter, teamwork, and plenty of healthy rivalry, providing a fantastic opportunity for colleagues to get active, build stronger connections, and continue raising funds for the Army Benevolent Fund.

Our charity quiz

The fundraising continued into Wednesday evening with a Curry and Quiz Night at the Marsham Court Hotel. Colleagues enjoyed an evening of delicious food, testing their general knowledge, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way. The event was a brilliant opportunity for staff to socialise outside of working hours from our different offices.

Insights from the Army Benevolent Fund

Later in the week, we hosted a Lunch and Learn session, welcoming two representatives from the Army Benevolent Fund to speak about the charity’s vital work and the support it provides to serving soldiers, veterans, and their families. We also heard from Conor Maher, who delivered an insightful talk on the Armed Forces Covenant and highlighted the commitments Ellis Jones has made to supporting the Armed Forces community. The session offered colleagues a valuable opportunity to learn more about the challenges faced by members of the Armed Forces and the positive impact that organisations like the Army Benevolent Fund continue to make.

Coming together for charity

Armed Forces Week was a fantastic example of colleagues coming together to support an important cause. Whether through fundraising, friendly competition, or learning more about the Armed Forces community. Thank you to everyone who got involved and donated! We look forward to continuing to support the Armed Forces community as proud signatories of the Ministry of Defence’s Armed Forces Covenant.
