National Minimum Wage and Living Wage Increase to £7.83
The national minimum and living wage increased on 1st April 2018.
Rate of pay is categorised by age group, the current rates are as follows:
- 25 and over – £7.83
- 21 to 24 – £7.38
- 18 to 20 – £5.90
- Under 18 – £4.20
- Apprentice – £3.70

The national minimum wage is the pay per hour that almost all employees are entitled to. The national living wage is a premium added to the national minimum wage for all workers aged 25 and over.
