Engage & Explore: Ellis Jones Netwalking

On a beautiful sunny morning in Ringwood we hosted our first Netwalking Event. The event was organised by Rebecca Suthers, a Senior Associate and Chartered Legal Executive, and Theresa Mills, a solicitor. Both work for Ellis Jones in the Wills Trust and Probate Department.

Some local professionals were invited and the walk was guided by Colin Andrews of RACE (Ringwood Actions for Climate Emergency). Colin lead the walking group, of no more than 6, around some of the trees planted at Poulner which RACE had organised this year* and explained the importance of caring for the saplings. After leaving the newly planted glade Colin guided the group along a 4 mile walk around Linwood, pointing out the various trees and explaining the challenges they face, such as Ash Die Back, and beside the Spinnaker Club before returning to the glade for a mince pie

The event provided not only some much appreciated time to slow down and meet up with other professionals, but also connect with nature.

Ellis Jones will be hosting further Netwalking events in 2021 as well as inviting local professional to participate in some of RACE’s projects in 2021.

*RACE had set themselves a challenge to plant 20,000 trees for 2020 and were pleased to plant the 20,000th tree last weekend. By the end of 2020 they will have exceeded this number and have planted 28,000, including native hedging.
