Ellis Jones celebrates Pride Month 2026

At Ellis Jones, we are proud to stand with our LGBTQ+ colleagues, clients and the wider community. Pride Month provides an important opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to creating an inclusive workplace culture where everyone feels respected, supported and valued for who they are.

Why Pride Month matters

Pride Month has its roots in the events of June 1969, when the Stonewall uprising in New York became a catalyst for the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Today, Pride continues to be both a celebration of identity and a reminder of the importance of equality, diversity and human rights in the workplace and wider society.

While significant progress has been made in the UK, including marriage equality and legal protections against discrimination, many individuals still face challenges, including workplace discrimination, inequality and barriers to inclusion.

By recognising Pride Month, organisations can help promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace, encourage awareness, and support meaningful change.

Supporting Bournemouth Pride 2026

This year, we are proud to be sponsoring Bournemouth Pride 2026, supporting one of the South Coast’s most vibrant and important celebrations of the LGBTQ+ community.

Bournemouth Pride is more than a celebration, it is an opportunity to promote equality, acceptance and inclusion across the South Coast. We are delighted to be involved in an event that brings people together, raises awareness, and creates a safe and inclusive space for everyone to celebrate who they are.

Assisting Space Youth Project

We have also supported the charity, Space Youth Project throughout this year. The charity helps young people who are or may be LGBT+ and empowers them to have positive self-esteem, to know they are supported, to have a sense of community and to overcome issues, caused or intensified by prejudice, in order to facilitate freedom of expression.

Partner & Solicitor, Nicola Hall attended the Space Family Day event in Christchurch on Saturday 21st March to offer advice and information on legal transition, which was the theme of the event. Our firm provided a leaflet to give legal information on change of name, gender recognition certificates, fertility and LGBT+ parenting journeys. Nicola spoke to attendees and answered their questions surrounding the change of name process.

We also donated a prize to the Space Youth Project Raffle Fundraiser on Friday 29th May and will continue our support for the Space Youth Project charity.
