Gold Sponsor for Ringwood Carnival 2025

A day of fun

Ringwood Carnival took place on Saturday 20th September this year, including two processions, an afternoon procession and an illuminated evening parade. Throughout the day there were various street entertainers, music bands, live entertainment, arts and crafts stalls on The Village Green, fireworks, and the fun fair was open during the event. Both parades featured a marching band, steam engines, dance groups and community floats designed and built by local organisations, schools, clubs and groups.

The Carnival has been running since 1928, when it first started, and has now grown to become Ringwood’s largest and most vibrant annual community event. It attracts hundreds of local people year on year from surrounding areas as summer draws to a close. Ringwood Carnival aims to raise and donate funds to local charities, organisations and good causes.

Celebrating community spirit

Consultant from our Ringwood office, David Walton attended the afternoon procession, giving out the Spirit of Carnival Trophy to local award winner, Paul Bulpitt, which was accepted by a colleague on his behalf. Endless Incense won the window display competition which was a new award for this year!

Supporting local communities

At Ellis Jones, we believe it is important to be actively involved in the communities surrounding our offices and are continually proud to invest in sponsoring this event year on year as it continues to grow in popularity. Aside from sponsoring the Carnival itself, we also endeavour to assist local charities during Carnival month as part of our community support.

Volunteering with RACE Against Time

Linda Murr, Sarah Jessup, Sydnie O’Hara, Caroline Chambers, Millie Hunt and Dimitar Bogdanov did volunteering for Ringwood Actions for Climate Emergency (RACE against time), weeding in the Danny Cracknell Pocket Park to further support the Ringwood community by maintaining green spaces to help the environment, biodiversity, and combat climate change. Ringwood Actions for Climate Emergency (RACE against time) are a registered charity based in Ringwood and Hampshire, with the aim of bringing people from the area together to take actions that help the environment, maintaining several green spaces. The charity have achieved the below:

  • Facilitated planting over 50,000 trees since 2020
  • Saved over 142 tonnes of food from waste since May 2021 (Ringwood Community Fridge)
  • Saved over 80 duvet covers, 50 sheets and 30 pairs of curtains from waste through sewing workshops (Make, Do and Mend)
  • Planted 1000s of bulbs and 100s of pollinator friendly plants
  • Hosted a series of opportunities for people to connect with the environment through art
  • Hosted 5 Ringwood eco fairs, 7 clothes swaps, 3 spring seed and seedling swaps and 3 craft de-stash events

Environmental volunteering is one way we put people first at the firm, helping to create a better future for everyone and we look forward to doing more next year.
