Volunteering Day

One way in which Ellis Jones recognises its staff is to allow time off for them to volunteer with charities.

I have recently used this opportunity to volunteer with a fantastic charity working locally, AIM Community (presently part of Frontier Youth Trust).

AIM Community work with young people in the Bournemouth and Poole area in creative arts and learning. They offer specialist support and opportunities to young people outside of mainstream education through AIM Arts Academy assisting them up to
college level and supporting them to apply for University (if that’s the path they take).

On 10th December I assisted at their “In The Making” day where they showcased their work with young people to those in creative industries locally and nationally. Young people were able to demonstrate brilliant talent in music, art, animation,
photography and production to people from creative industries.

AIM Community is looking to become an independent charity from Frontier Youth Trust in the forthcoming years. I am assisting with this process on their steering group which is still looking for volunteers from the local community with experience in being a charity trustee.
