Announcing our partnership with the BOWRA Foundation
We are proud to announce our new partnership with the BOWRA Foundation, a charity with a mission close to our hearts.
Supporting recovery from brain injury
The BOWRA Foundation is a charity that is dedicated to promoting and pursuing the psychological and physical wellbeing, rehabilitation and recovery of those living with a brain injury. They aim to help regain independence, improve confidence and empower communities through physical activity and practical help.
Founder, Mark Bowra suffered a major stroke in 2014 and was hospitalised for a year. During his personal recovery process, he created a platform and community to help others in their recovery journeys. His vision is for those affected by brain injury to be able to live full and rewarding lives without restrictions. The BOWRA Foundation provides beneficiaries with BOWRA Bags which are rucksacks full of practical aids for those in the early stages of recovery from brain injury. The charity also creates and hosts activities to help beneficiaries, their families and their carers with recovery and wellbeing. Activities include adaptive golf, cycling, bowls, kayaking and more for beneficiaries to take part in.
Veterans Programme
Mark Bowra received support from his Armed Forces colleagues during his recovery, having served as a Royal Marine Commando, and this inspired the BOWRA Foundation’s Veterans Programme. The programme invites Armed Forces veterans to join activities to improve wellbeing, connect them with comrades and support those with brain injuries using their skills and experience. The Veterans Programme aims to bring people together to build resilience and improve quality of life.
Our connection to BOWRA Foundation
Partner in our Dispute Resolution department, Lauren Day, first connected with the Foundation through local networks before becoming a BOWRA Trustee in 2020. Lauren was drawn to BOWRA’s mission and the impact it has on people’s lives, and has now been a member of the Trustee Board for over five years.
Within her role as Trustee, Lauren backed the launch of the BOWRA Bag project, supporting the team to source funding for a full time member of staff to take the BOWRA Bag concept and drive it forward. The BOWRA Bag initiative is now a key part of how BOWRA Foundation supports beneficiaries recovering from brain injury.
Our fundraising and partnership
In previous years our firm has raised thousands of pounds for the BOWRA Foundation at our Royal Ascot Days, as well as supporting events hosted by BOWRA, such as their Christmas quiz. In 2025 we sponsored Mark Bowra and a team to walk over 100 miles of the South West Coast Path over 7 days.
With our new partnership in place, we will be providing BOWRA Foundation with free legal advice to an agreed amount and discounted legal services for any paid legal service work.
We look forward to continuing our fundraising and support for the BOWRA Foundation as a charitable institution making a real difference to the lives of those recovering from brain injury.
