Furlough Scheme Warning

Today is the last day which you can place an employee on furlough leave for the first time so that they complete the minimum 3 week furlough period before the scheme’s closing date of 30 June 2020.

The exception is for parents on extended leave (e.g. maternity and paternity leave), who will be able to be furloughed if necessary, after their period of extended leave ends.

Any employee who has already been placed on furlough and has spent a minimum of 3 weeks on furlough leave prior to the 30 June 2020, will be able to be furloughed from 1 July 2020.

For further information, see the Government’s guidance.

If you would like any advice on the Furlough Scheme, changing terms, flexible furlough, or redundancies please contact our Employment Partner, Kate Brooks on 01202 525333 or email kate.brooks@ellisjones.co.uk.
