Ellis Jones supports Armed Forces Week
We are proud to have supported Armed Forces Week this week. As a firm we wanted to show our support and appreciation to the Armed Forces community by hosting various fundraising activities in support of the Army Benevolent Fund in the run up to Armed Forces Day on Saturday 29th June 2024.
The Army Benevolent Fund
The Army Benevolent Fund is the national charity of the British Army. Since 1944, it has provided a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families when they are in need. Last year the charity supported 70,000 people in 45 countries around the world.
Our fundraising activities
On Tuesday 26th June 2024 we hosted our firm wide bake sale where each office bought in cakes and baked goods for donations. There was an assortment of cakes such as: a Victorian sponge cake, rice crispy cakes and much more. Thank you to everyone who participated in the bake sale.
The following day, our Bournemouth office hosted a Rounders Competition at Winton Recreational Ground, where two teams played against each other in the summer heat. A big congratulations to Matt Rushent’s team for winning!
On Thursday 27th June 2024 Nigel Smith hosted a Lunch and Learn with guest speakers Tilly and Diane from the Army Benevolent Fund Charity, where they shared the incredible work the charity does. Tilly and Diane provided great insight with their wealth of professional experience from the service charity sector. The firm would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Tilly and Diane for attending this Lunch and Learn.
