Bournemouth & District Junior Lawyers Division summer ball
On Friday 1st August we sponsored the Bournemouth & District Junior Lawyers Division summer ball, hosted at the Carlton Hotel in Bournemouth.
The committee
Lots of the Bournemouth & District Junior Lawyers Division (BDJLD) committee are Ellis Jones employees who supported this event, including Matt Rushent as President, Howard Hasan as Vice President, Sarah Bourgoin as Treasurer, Georgie Standhaft as Content Officer, Jenny Sanderson as Sports Officer, Jasmine White as Student Representative, Emily Shepard as General Committee Member and myself as Social Events Officer.
Charity fundraising
I was in charge of planning the summer ball and I am so pleased that we raised £1,000 in support of the Water Lily Project, equating to 50 hours of support for women in crisis – often fleeing domestic abuse. Representatives from the Water Lily Project gave a moving and insightful speech about the vital work they do supporting women in crisis to rebuild their lives.
Sponsoring events like this is just one of the ways we support our local community. At Ellis Jones we aim to contribute to fundraising efforts for charities in Dorset throughout the year across many different events.
