Why Ellis Jones is the perfect placement

I applied to Ellis Jones for my placement year after hearing, at various University based networking events, that they were a friendly firm, who would be able to provide me with a good, practical understanding of working in a law firm, at a level unavailable anywhere else.

During my time, I have been treated as a member of the team and felt as though I had worked here for years! I was fortunate to be placed in the Wills, Trust and Probate (WTP) department which was the perfect place to begin my legal career. I have been working on client matters, including taking part in meetings, drafting documents and carrying out research.  Knowing that I was helping people through a difficult time in their lives was a very fulfilling.

My experience in the WTP department enabled me to develop my theoretical knowledge of Trusts and Estates law and apply it practically to real scenarios. I’ve enjoyed having great colleagues who were kind enough to field endless questions from me, even some sillier ones!

My time at the firm has only cemented my aspiration to become a solicitor; knowing that this is just a small viewing into the career that I have chosen has only increased my determination to succeed. I could not recommend the Firm more to anyone who is interested in having a challenging, but extremely fulfilling and exciting placement year.
