The launch of the Ellis Jones Health and Wellbeing Programme

We have launched our exciting new Health and Wellbeing programme for all of our 160+ employees, across our 7 different offices. To help us achieve this we have formed a Health and Wellbeing group made up of passionate employees, with a wealth of experience and ideas, all wanting to make a difference.

The importance of employee health and wellbeing has become more widely recognised throughout the UK over the past decade, there’s been a rise in the number of reported mental health issues and in many cases the main risks to people’s health at work are psychological. Each year 12.5 million working days are lost in the UK due to mental health issues, however 86% of workers believe their organisation isn’t doing enough to help them with these issues.

At Ellis Jones we are 100% committed to providing a healthy and supportive working environment for our employees and we believe that promoting wellbeing throughout our firm will help prevent stress and create a positive working environment for our staff where they can flourish and reach their full potential.

The aim of our Health and Wellbeing strategy is to understand the health and wellbeing needs of our staff so that we know where to focus our efforts, monitor the impact of poor health and wellbeing on the firm and then review our current health activities to see what works and what does not to see what we can do to change this. All the while ensuring the Ellis Jones culture and values are in keeping with good health and wellbeing.

Health and wellbeing is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being, not just absence of disease or infirmity, therefore we are focusing our efforts on 4 key areas:

  • Mental and emotional wellbeing
  • Physical health and wellbeing
  • Social
  • Financial

We will set a calendar of health and well being actions focusing on each of the four themes every month and will communicate support, tips and activities for our staff to get involved in. We have chosen a hashtag for any activity surrounding our health and wellbeing programme #EJhealth so check out our social media to see what we get up to.
