Win For Primera Cycling Team In Winchester

As proud sponsors of Primera’s cycle team, we were overjoyed to hear that in Winchester City centre yesterday, team riders Matt Dennis and Julian Lockwood riding in the Cat 3/4 race managed to come away with 2 of the top 3 places on the podium. This fast 1km circuit around the city centre attracted large crowds. They were treated to some spectacular racing.

The race lasted 45 minutes and was fast and furious from the start. With 7 laps to go, Julian was able to join Matt and control the front of the race. With 75 meters to go, Julian’s lead out worked perfectly as Matt came round him to win the sprint. Julian also managed to hold on to 3^rd place to give Primera 1^st and 3^rd place on the podium.

Also yesterday Primera had further success in the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers 10 mile time trial. 1^st place was Sam Wadlsey in 19.10 and 2^nd place was Paul Jones in 19.47. They were the only 2 riders to go under 20 minutes. Great riding from both of them.

Ellis Jones are keen supporters of Primera’s race team and are now into the 3^rd year of sponsorship with them. It is great to see the team’s hard training paying off with this success. They’ve also announced a brand new cycling kit, click here to see what it looks like!
