Jonathan Morrissey celebrates 30 years as a criminal lawyer

Last week saw Jonathan Morrissey celebrate his 30th year anniversary as a Criminal solicitor.

Now Head of Crime at Ellis Jones Solicitors, Jon has enjoyed a very successful career in criminal law defending clients on every type of criminal and motoring offence including Murder and Manslaughter, Serious Sexual and Fraud Offences as well as lesser Public Order and Dishonesty Offences.

In the Motoring world, Jon has successfully saved a multitude of driving licences for both serious and lesser offences such as Causing Death by Dangerous Driving, right down the spectrum to speeding.

Jon’s previous position was Deputy Coroner for Bournemouth, Poole and East Dorset from 2000 to 2010 and he has extensive experience in corresponding with coroner’s courts and representing clients in relation to Inquest proceedings.

Jon said, “Strangely, I don’t feel that old because I have a job I love doing now that I don’t deal with Legal Aid. It’s been a privilege working for you good people. Just remember being accused of something doesn’t mean you’re guilty! I am also privileged to say that the majority of my Clients become my friends. That is rare and I’m grateful for it.”
