Head of Business Services appointed at Ellis Jones Solicitors
Neil comes from a business background and has headed legal departments in both London and New York where he requalified as a US attorney.
Following a period of owning and operating a care home, Neil joined Ellis Jones as a consultant corporate and commercial solicitor.
In his new role he heads a six-strong department dealing with all aspects of corporate and commercial law.
The department acts for a wide range of businesses from start-ups to the sale and purchase of established companies.
It was ranked in this year’s The Legal 500 – regarded as the legal sector’s ‘bible’ – for its strength and depth in expertise and client commitment. Neil was also personally recommended in The Legal 500 together with employment specialist and associate solicitor, Kate Brooks.
Other members of the department are solicitor Gustav Patrick; consultant solicitor Hugh Craig and support staff Hannah Roberts and Victoria Simpkin.
Neil said that his business background, coupled with a law career spent in commerce, gave him a strong understanding of business realities.
He added: “We consider ourselves as not only legal advisors but also commercial partners.”
