Daniel Pidgley’s Golf Challenge Raised Over £1000 for Macmillan

Ellis Jones’ very own Litigation Executive, Daniel Pidgley, undertook the MacMillan ‘Longest Day 72 hole Challenge’ on 21st June 2017 with the help of some of his friends (Daniel Baguley, Ashley Collison and Kieran Vineer).

They undertook the challenge to raise as much money as possible for a great cause. They played 4 rounds of golf in 1 day! This equates to; 16 – 18 hours of playing time on the course, 300 – 400 shots and walking a distance of 20 – 25 miles!

The challenge took place at PlayGolf Bournemouth and thanks to the assistance of the staff there, the day event ran smoothly.

Tee off was at 5:10am, with the following rounds kicking off at 8:45am,1:37pm and then 5:30pm. Each round came with an outfit change for our golfers, staring the day off with some big, bright and bold golf trousers.

The challenge was a great success, the group walked off the course just before 9:30 in the evening being greeted by family, friends and a celebratory drink!

For those of you that are into golf, Daniel finished 3 under par (to handicap) across his 4 rounds of golf. This was made up of 354 shots and 147 points (36, 36, 36, 39) which he was relatively pleased with after a very long day in scorching sunshine.

The group raised in excess of £1,000 for their exploits and would like to thank their supporters for helping a good cause see the benefit of all their hard work.

As a whole, the Macmillan event also raised a staggering £1,089,224 nationally! We here at Ellis Jones are immensely proud that one of our own has been part of such a successful fundraising experience.
