Route to Ellis Jones
Sean joined Ellis Jones in 1999 having spent his formative years as a family lawyer at a top London firm, Reynolds Porter Chamberlain. With a young family, the lure of a better quality of life lead him to the South Coast.
Professional Associations & Qualifications
Sean is currently Chairman of Dorset Resolution (his second seat in this role) and is an experienced mediator and collaborative law practitioner, areas which are bound to find prominence in the years ahead in family law. He is also trained to consult with children directly within mediation.
In addition to his wide ranging experience in high net worth financial cases, Sean is a recognised expert in cases involving disputes over children with an emphasis on relocation/leave to remove cases and International Child Abduction. He has been a member of the Official Solicitors’ International Child Abduction and Contact Units Panel for many years.
Also, Sean is ranked as a leading family lawyer in the South Coast by Chambers UK (a Client's Guide to Legal Profession). The current edition states:

Recent high profile cases
Sean has recently succeeded in the Court of Appeal on a variation of maintenance case which was reported in the law reports. He has also recently succeeded in defending an internal relocation case involving two young children. He enjoys the different disciplines required for financial cases and those involving children.
Sean is married with three children (aged 6 to 16). He is a passionate follower of football, is a season ticket holder at AFC Bournemouth and a regular attendee at the Emirates. He enjoys tennis and swimming (having completed the pier to pier swim in Bournemouth) and loves any sport to do with water!
