Licensing

Any owner or operator of a hotel, restaurant and public house or off-licence must ensure that they fully comply with the complicated licensing legislation that exists to protect the public and in particular, vulnerable persons. Any business owner must ensure that the correct licences are in force at all times and that they remain effective upon transfer of ownership/operation. Owners must be aware of the very serious financial and other consequences of operating without a licence e.g. being forced to close until a new licence is granted.

The Ellis Jones licensing team consists of Nigel Smith (Managing Partner), and David Williams (Associate), assisted by Summer Abrahams and Stephanie Wilson. The team can advice and assist in all of your alcohol licensing requirements from routine to more complex matters including licensing applications, objections and appeals and dealing with licensing sub-committees and the courts.

We can advise you on all aspects from the initial stages through to the operational difficulties encountered, in order to help you manage your business profitably, safely and effectively.

In the first instance, please address your enquiries to David Williams or Summer Abrahams at our Ringwood office on 01425 484848 (email: david.williams@ellisjones.co.uk or summer.abrahams@ellisjones.co.uk) for an initial free assessment of your requirements.
