The British Government is in the process of introducing a new tiered points based system of "Managed Migration" to the UK. This means that the requirements to be met by migrants coming to the UK to work are in a state of constant change.
Give yourself the best chance of making a successful application. We can advise you on the up-to-date requirements if you wish to come to the UK to:
- establish yourself in business, or
- as a highly skilled migrant
and give advice regarding additional schemes such as:
- the international graduate scheme – under which overseas students graduating from a British University with a degree may be eligible to stay for another year in the UK in order to look for work.
Overseas nationals can be employed by UK employers who are prepared to make a work permit application on behalf of the prospective employee. Whether or not a work permit is required, overseas nationals must comply with the immigration requirements and this includes a Workers Registration Scheme for nationals of many of those countries more recently admitted to the EU and particular restrictions and procedures in respect of Bulgarian and Romanian employees.

Employers can be subject to substantial fines if overseas nationals are employed without ascertaining that they have the correct immigration status to allow them to work lawfully in the UK.
