
A solicitor described as one of Bournemouth’s ‘big hitters’ has joined Dorset and New Forest law firm Ellis Jones as a partner.
John Crawford, previously senior partner of Dibbens in Bournemouth and Wimborne, took up his new role in July of this year. A former President of Bournemouth and District Law Society, Mr Crawford (pictured, right) qualified as a solicitor in 1970. He became a partner with Dibbens in 1976 and the senior partner with the firm 15 years ago.Mr Crawford, who specialises in acting for property developers and builders, brings the number of partners at Ellis Jones to 11. Nigel Smith, Managing Partner (pictured left), described his arrival as “a coup” for Ellis Jones.
He added: “John is unquestionably one of the big hitters on the Bournemouth legal scene and we’re delighted he has decided to join us.”
Mr Crawford, who lists horse riding and kart racing among his hobbies, said he was “thrilled” at joining Ellis Jones.
“Ellis Jones has a dedicated department specialising in development and commercial property work which I hope to be able to enhance,” he said. “This move should enable me to provide a better all-round service to my clients.”
