Personal injury boss completes London Triathlon
PERSONAL injury solicitor David McWilliam successfully avoided any scrapes himself when he completed the London Triathlon in exactly 2hrs and 30 mins.
He was among 13,000 people taking part in one of the world’s largest triathlons involving a 1.5km swim in Docklands, 40km bike ride and 10km run on Sunday August 2.
The swim was completed in 28 mins 54 seconds, 40m bike ride through the streets of London in 1 hr 8 mins and the 10km run in 44 minutes 30 seconds.
David, who is Head of Personal Injury for Dorset and New Forest law firm Ellis Jones Solicitors, said: “It was an excellent day with a brilliant atmosphere.
“I saw Jenson Button (Formula 1 racing driver) finish at 23 minutes ahead of me.
“I dreamt that Docklands had been awarded a Blue Flag. In reality, the water was distinctly brown. Think watery gravy and you get the picture.”
David was raising money for SportsAid which provides financial assistance to Britain’s amateur sportsmen and women.
He’s no stranger to physical challenges having previously taken part in the Bournemouth and Swanage triathlons, a 220 mile charity cycle ride and both London and New Forest marathons.
David joined Ellis Jones in 1995 as a trainee solicitor and qualified in 1997. He was made an Associate in January 2003 and Head of Personal Injury Department two years ago.
A keen sportsman, he deals with all accident claims including road traffic accidents, trip and slips, employers liability and has a special interest in sporting accidents.
