Recognition of Excellence in Matrimonial Finance Cases

Ellis Jones is pleased to announce that Ian Butterworth has been accredited by Resolution as a specialist in complex financial disputes between married couples, marking him out a trusted expert in this field.

Resolution is the national association of family lawyers and it has developed the accreditation scheme to recognise members who have demonstrated excellence in the practice offamily law and in the areas in which they specialise.

Securing the accreditation is a far from easy task. Candidates are required to demonstrate thorough knowledge of the law, procedure and practice and also sufficient skill, proficiency and experience in specialist areas of family law.

Ian secured the following two accreditations:

  • Complex Financial Remedies 2 – This recognises specialist knowledge and experience in dealing with matters where high (or exceptional) income and/or substantial assets are a feature of the case, to include the treatment of pre-nuptial agreements, trusts and company assets; and
  • Complex Financial Remedies 1 – This recognises excellence in dealing with matters where medium to low income issues are a feature of the case, to include debt and insolvency.

At the date of writing, Ian is the only family lawyer in the area who has secured both complex financial remedies accreditations.
